The Nature of Work
This article is included in A Bluestocking Guide: Economics, which I have used for three years of teaching free market economics. This guide goes along with the book Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? and includes not only comprehension questions, but also additional articles. "The Nature of Work" by Robert LeFevre is probably my favorite article because it gives such a remarkably profound, yet often-overlooked perspective about finding joy even in the mundane labors that keep us going. It is a great article for parents, whether current or future, but anyone (ages twelve and up) can really benefit from the philosophy of the article. One of my economics students created a list of comprehension questions for this article.
